Question by seBADoh: how many of you have motorcycle pants? Do you recommend them?
I have every other piece of gear except pants

scorpion exo-400 helmet
leather and textile jackets
nice leather gloves
sidi vertigo corsas

I wear jeans when I ride. But I was told by a fellow rider to imagine putting a bag of potatos in my jeans and then tye them to my truck and go for a short ride around the block and see how my jeans hold up. It made sense, so I started looking for pants.

If you have suggestions, Id like to hear them. I dont like the jean looking motorcycle pants or leather pants. I want some textile overpants if I get anything.

newenough and motorcycle superstore have some good prices. But wanted to see how many people wear motorcycle pants.

ABSOLUTELY! I crashed my BMW at 50mph on a curve on Mulholland here in Malibu. Well, the bike had K in damage. I was wearing a BMW leather suit. The only scratch I got on me was my knuckles and wrists where my gloves failed. I now wear armored gloves. I can’t imagine what condition I would have been in if I was wearing jeans. I think my right leg would be a scab with bones. I have those armored jeans, but I find them annoying. I’m just sticking with the leathers.

Question by lep3f: Which Helmet is Best for a Beginner?
Hey i need a little help from those who have used or can help me a bit. I am looking at the following motorcycle helmets and i am in between on all of them. Scorpion EXO-400 solid, HJC CL-16 solid, or an ICON Domain 1 solid, let me know based on facts or experience not opinions thanks!

All helmets (in the UK, at least) have a safety stamp, so make sure that what you’re buying has one.

Other than that, the only thing to consider would be making sure you have a really good fitting helmet so that it is as safe and noiseless as possble. If its too loose fitting, it can be dangerous and noisy, too tight fitting and it will get very uncomfortable very quickly.

Question by snoopyhead101: Is there a way to put multiple shields on a motorcycle helmet?
I just bought the Scorpion EXO-400 and since you’re only allowed to have a clear shield at night, is there something that allows you to have two shields in the helmet at once?

Question by snoopyhead101: How do you wear sunglasses with a motorcycle helmet?
I have the Scorpion EXO-400 and Oakley Penny’s, but I cant seem to fit them in there.
I’ve tried putting on the helmet and then my Oakley’s, but there’s not enough room. I’ve also tried putting on my sunglasses first, but that also doesn’t work.

Question by Oh, well!: Vega mach or Scorpion Exo?
I have done a lot of homework on this. I know ARAI and Schoei are the best but I am choosing to buy something more affordable (please don’t tell me that I should spend as much money as I value my head unless you have some valid links with data/reviews/reports to support your claim). I have read great reviews on the Scorpion Exo (http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/scorpion/exo-400/) but I can’t find any info on the Vega mach (or even on Vega in general). What would you choose (between those two)? Thank you in advance…

I’m not gonna put you down over the question, but my suggestion would be to check out some of the online helmet shops to find a deal on a discontinued Shoei, rather than a new style cheaper brand. Just a suggestion. Scorpion has better looking chicks on their website, if it’s between these 2 go with Scorpion.
