Question by Matt: Which of the 2 helmets is better. Links included.?
The AGV S4?

or

The Scorpion EXO-1000?

I personally think they both look great and are great. I heard that the AGV prevents less buffeting. But I’m not going to be racing. I will be just commuting and street riding. The Scorpion seems like a better helmet. The AGV windshield seems better.

Any advice would help. Thank you.

I can tell you that the Scorpion helmet info states that it is SNELL and DOT approved.

While I am sure the AGV helmet is DOT approved (it may not be, I don’t know), the SNELL rating is the most regarded helmet safety company in the world, and for a reason.

I’m in the market for a new helmet, since I just bought a brand new Scorpion EXO 1000 and my cousin dropped it. (Don’t worry he’s buying it now) I wanted to know

Who has a HJC? How is it compared to a Shoei RF1000?
more specifically…Who has a HJC FS-15 Carbon? (NEW)

I used to run HJC…

I like the aerodynamics of the shoei better (less head wobble at high speed/wind) but I liked the price of the HJC…

Question by X-MAN: What makes my Scorpion EXO-1000 helmet worth the cost?
I’m a new rider and I was planning on buying a cheap ‘Icon’ helmet for about 0 but I ended up spending a lot more on a Scorpion helmet for about 0, all my friends (only one of which is a rider however he’s new as well) think I’m crazy for spending so much. I feel you get what you pay for and my head is worth every penny however I do wonder what makes a helmet worth more or less? I’m sure the extra built-in visor and good looks isn’t worth that extra 0 so what is? Did I make a good choice or lose out on some extra cash?

no wind noise
lightweight
good internal air circulation

a high quality name brand helmet makes a big difference, AND, if you like it or not you will be judged by other bikers by the brand of motorcycle helmet you wear, you will be much more respected wearing a high quality name brand helmet.

(example) seen a man on a brand new top of the line Victory Motorcycle wearing a cheap HJC helmet, it made him look bad riding a K motorcycle wearing a cheap 0 helmet

personally: to me, the Shoei is the best, but the Scorpion is also a high quality helmet and i don’t know if you know this or not, but these high quality helmets do come in different shapes for different shape heads and i would HIGHLY suggest you match the helmet for the head SHAPE and size.
If you visit their website you will see information about head shape and the proper procedure to measure your head.
a proper fitting helmet makes a BIG difference on being comfortable for that all day long ride.

Question by Frankie: would a Chatterbox com system work on a Scorpion Exo 1000 helmet?
I’ve noticed the lower edge of the exo 1000 is wider than most helmets, so the attachment doesn’t really fit on the helmet. Has anyone installed a chatterbox to their exo 1000? If so, please instruct me how to do so…
